1. Scope of the Selling Service

PrettyDifferentShop.com offers a consignment-based jewelry selling service. After completion of the free, non-binding valuation and once a mutually agreed market selling price has been established, the shop may offer the customer’s jewellery for sale through its online channels.

This service is:

• Based on explicit agreement between the customer and Pretty Different

• Conducted on a best-effort basis at the agreed market value

• Governed by Dutch law (Burgerlijk Wetboek)

2. Agreed Selling Price

• The jewelry will be listed and sold at the full agreed market value as confirmed in writing (email or digital confirmation)

• The agreed price represents the gross selling price to the end customer, excluding payment processing fees

• Pretty Different will not reduce or discount the agreed price without the owner’s prior consent

3. Commission & Fees

• Pretty Different charges a commission of 25% of the final selling price.

• This commission covers:

  • Curation, marketing, photography, and listing

  • Customer service and sales handling

  • Secure storage and handling

  • Shipping logistics and customs processing

Payment processing fees (e.g. credit card, Etsy, Shopify, PayPal, Klarna) are:

• Paid by the jewelry owner and vary from 3 to 11% depending on a platform

• Deducted from the payout amount

• Charged at the actual rate applied by the payment provider

No additional hidden fees apply.

4. Shipping, Customs & Logistics

• Pretty Different takes full responsibility for:

  • Packaging

  • Insured shipping to the buyer

  • Customs documentation and handling (where applicable)

• Shipping is free of charge for the jewelry owner and is included in 25% commission

• The shop selects the shipping method and carrier based on value, destination, and insurance requirements

5. Payment & Payout to the Customer

• Once the jewelry has been sold and payment from the buyer has been successfully completed and cleared:

  • The customer will receive their payout within a reasonable period, typically within 3 days after the buyer accepts the parcel

• Payment will be made via the agreed payout method (bank transfer or other supported method)

6. Ownership & Risk

• Legal ownership of the jewelry remains with the customer until the item is sold

• While in the care of Pretty Different, the jewelry will be handled with professional diligence

• Liability for loss or damage is limited to what is permissible under Dutch law and applicable insurance arrangements

7. Taxes & Fiscal Responsibility

• The payout received by the customer may have tax implications (e.g. income tax, capital gains, inheritance-related proceeds) and is a responsibility of the customer

• Pretty Different does not provide tax advice.

• The customer remains solely responsible for declaring and settling any taxes due under Dutch or other applicable tax laws

8. Example Calculation (For Client Reference)

Agreed market selling price: €2,000.00

Note: Payment processing fees vary depending on the payment method used by the buyer and will be deducted at actual cost.

9. Legal Framework

• This selling policy is governed by Dutch law.

• Any disputes arising from the selling or consignment arrangement shall be resolved in accordance with Dutch legal procedures

• Nothing in this policy constitutes an employment, partnership, or agency relationship

10. Acceptance

By agreeing to sell jewelry through Pretty Different, the customer confirms that:

• They are the lawful owner or authorized seller of the item

• All information provided about the jewelry is truthful to the best of their knowledge

• They accept the terms outlined in this Jewellery Selling & Consignment Policy
