Antique Victorian Rose Cut Diamond and Citrine Earrings
A beautiful antique pair of French silver and gold drop earrings! These gentle earrings are made of solid 12 carat gold and are set with sparkling rose cut diamonds.
This lovely pair originates from France and can be attributed to the mid-late 1800s - a so-called Victorian era. The face of the earrings is made of silver, according to the antique technique of gem setting. It was beleived, that silver holds the gemstones in their prongs better than gold. Thus the body and ear wires of the chandeliers are made of solid gold and the face - is silver.
The earrings have a gorgeous long drop of 1.9 inches. The shape a floral arrangement. The diamonds have an old 'rose' cut and catch both day and night light nicely. The center of the composition has 2oval deep orange citrines which look amazing!
These beauties will make a great wearable gift for all antique jewelry lovers out there!
