A classy and delicate antique Victorian onyx locket. A typical example of period mourning jewelry made of polished onyx plate, decorated with a pearl cross ornament. The body of the locket is preserved amazingly with no surface wear on the front. The internal glass compartment is fully intact and cleaned. The lock holds perfectly.
Onyx is often used in Victorian period for the art of mourning jewelry (only black jewels were allowed to be worn in mourning period) is also known for the energy of strong support, stamina, and determination to help one's persevere.
