This decorative and good size Etruscan Revival eliptical brooch dates from the late Victorian era and is made of hallmarked 9ct yellow gold. The brooch front is set with a row of five genuine 'rose cut' diamonds.
Approximately 4.2 g (the brooch is hollow)
The brooch measures approximately 6cms in length. For further size detail please see the photo of the brooch on a cm ruler
The reverse of the brooch is stamped '9' and '375' for 9ct gold. There are also hallmarks showing that the brooch was made in Chester, together with a date mark (which I can't quite make out). The pin itself is not gold.
5 x graduated genuine 'rose cut' diamond chips
This brooch is well over 100 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no dents or missing ornamentation. The diamonds are 'rose cut' chips and, as such, have irregular facets and surfaces (only discernible under magnification). It's possible that the back of the brooch once contained a locket compartment but it is now vacant / empty. The brooch retains its original 'C' clasp and pin.
