A lovely and very delicate antique Victorian trefoil ring.
Marked with a "Horse Head" French stamp for high carat gold, this ring is set with two lovely diamonds each measuring circa 0.15 ct and sapphire plus ruby combo. The "Horse Head" was use between 1838 and 1919 in France for 18 ct gold. Thus the ring dates to late 1800's - early 1900's and comes from France.
The trefoil measures 1.8 x 0.9 cm and looks simply gorgeous. The stones are preserved in a superb state without any surface wear and have an open back.
Hallmarks: Horse Head mark for 18 ct gold; was also acid- tested positive as 18 ct gold;
Centerpiece stones: 2 old mine cut diamonds (circa 0.15 ct each), 1 sapphire and 1 ruby - circa 0.18 ct each;
Crown/trefoil dimensions: 1.8 x 0.9 cm (widest parts);
Ring size: 17.25 (54.5) or US size 7;
Weight: 2.1 grams.
