An absolutely graceful and beautiful antique Victorian locket. A typical example of period Aesthetics movement jewelry made of glossy yellow gold. The body of this heavy (11g!) locket is made of solid 18k gold and is decorated with a stunning ornament depicting birds and flowers.

The locket original held Remontoir pocket watch and still carries a serial number, dedication engraving and watch brand. Judging by the gentle florals - these watch belonged to a lady, come from France and date back to the mid-late 1800's. The body of the locket is preserved amazingly with no surface wear. There are two inner compartments which can be used for holding ones memorabilia.

The locket can be worn reverse side up to showcase a flossy onyx plate. Onyx is often used in Victorian period for the art of mourning jewelry (only black jewels were allowed to be worn in mourning period) is also known for the energy of strong support, stamina, and determination to help one's persevere.
