Here we have a very old, solid 14K gold antique enamel locket! Dating back to the early-mid 1800's it can be attributed to the late Georgian or early Victorian era.
Enameled jewelry was extremely popular at that time, but very few pieces survived till present day in such a superb condition with no or very limited wear to the enamel.
One of the characteristics of the period is that the goldsmiths paid equal attention to the reverse side of the item, as well as to it's face.
This beautiful locket has a magnificent floral engraving on its reverse side and a very unusual shape. Inside there is a compartment for two photos or a relic. The lock holds perfectly.
Overall an amazing, virtually as-new condition!
